Why is the JamChest louder when I use AUX vs. Bluetooth? Although many advancements in Bluetooth technology have been made, there is still a loss in volume through Bluetooth connectivity. This is normal with Bluetooth devices. However, the JamChest has been built with this in mind and has proper amplification to provide music at high volumes.
Can the speakers come into direct contact with water? Yes, all Jam Chest coolers are waterproof in that water can not affect the internal components or anything contained within the ice chest. However, since speakers are the only exterior facing component, our speakers are at least water resistant. Some of our models come equipped with fully water proof speakers for an additional fee.
Do I have to worry about the extreme Heat/Cold? We have selected speakers that can handle both sides of the spectrum from -20F to 100F which lets you jam almost anywhere outside of the surface of the sun.
What if I blow out a speaker? We built our ice chest stereos to minimize the possibility of blowing it out. However, since there are many devices out there all with different volume outputs we recommend you start your device at a lower volume and work your way up.
How long does the battery last on a full charge? With the current li-ion battery that is used, each JamChest is rated for at least 6 hours or runtime at 3/4 volume (models may vary).
How durable are JamChest coolers? JamChest coolers are rugged enough to handle any day to day use and more. Throw it in a lake and it will still be OK. However, shoot a shotgun at it and we you may have some problems. Our warranty covers 1 year of parts and labor if your cooler breaks under normal wear and tear.
I want my favorite sports team logo on my cooler, can that be done? Due to copyright issues we may not use any; NFL, NBA, MLB, Nascar, etc logos. However, we can utilize licensed vinyl stickers for an additional fee of $25. Leave us a note during checkout and we can arrange this for you. Color combinations are an additional feature that we hope to offer in the future so that you may chose the color scheme of your cooler.
What happens if I break a speaker? Accidents happen and if you break a speaker somehow that is not covered by our warranty please contact us we would be more than happy to sell you a spare or even an upgrade (depending on model type).
Where else can I buy a JamChest? Besides JamChest.com and Amazon.com, we are currently in talks with a few San Diego surf shops and stores.
What's the benefit of having dual sided speakers versus just one side? If you often host large gatherings (15+ people) where people are spread out, a dual sided speaker may be your best choice to cover the entire area. However, for most occasions, we feel that a single sided version is best as you can point the speakers towards your area.
Can the JamChest function as an AM/FM radio? No, not by itself at least. Most mp3 players and phones now have the option to function as a radio so we did not include this in our original models. How loud can the JamChest get? Our speakers are loud enough to be heard clearly from about 40 feet away. This is subjective, but we're confident you'll be impressed with the sound!
What audio devices work with the JamChest? JamChests were designed to accept all devices that have either Bluetooth connectivity or the standard 3.5mm headphone jack.
